The Center for Radiological Research epitomizes an multidisciplinary approach towards understanding at both basic and applied levels the biological consequences of ionizing radiation exposures as they relate to human health.

The Center’s staff includes an interdisciplinary mix of professional scientists from fields as diverse as molecular biology, cell biology, radiation physics, computational physics, engineering and radiation oncology, performing research in experimental biophysics, cellular and microbeam studies, molecular and chromatin studies, and physics and biology related to both low dose radiation and radiation therapy-modeling.

Drs. Brenner and Hall are in the news for their publication in The New England Journal of Medicine (Nov. 29, 2007), arguing that the potential carcinogenic effects from using CT scans may be underestimated or overlooked.
